Safia Khan, Opinions Editor

Hi, I’m Safia! I’m a senior at Hinsdale South and I am also the Opinions Editor for Stinger. I decided to join Stinger during my junior year because I love reading and writing, and I thought joining the newspaper would be a great way for me to meet new people and write about topics I’m interested in. When I’m not swamped with homework, I like to read books and bake.

Here are some fun facts about me:

During 2020, I won 2nd place at the Highland Park Poetry Competition. My poem was published in an award winning anthology among poets from around the world.

My article about mental health amidst the pandemic was published by international mental health organization Erika’s Lighthouse.

I love to bake! I've made a variety of desserts but my favorite to eat and make is chocolate chip cookies.
