Apple Pie
Pies are one of my top 5 favorite desserts and I wanted to finally try to make it.
I made a fourth of the original recipe because I wasn’t sure how the pie would turn out as it was my first advanced bake and the recipe seemed a bit intimidating. However, it turned out to be super easy. Knowing basic baking techniques such as how to cut in the fat is more than enough. Although this is a 1-1.5 day project, it’s mostly due to refrigeration or maceration time (letting the apples mixed in with the spices sit at room temperature.)
Overall, the pie was delicious. The recipe resulted in the perfect flaky, tender, tarty flavor that defines an appetizing apple pie. Definitely worth the time and effort involved!

Click here for my slightly modified recipe. I decided to bake the pie at 350°F for 30 minutes instead of the 195°F for 1 hour 15 minutes recommended by the recipe. It was a lot more efficient and maintained all of the qualities of the original baking time and temperature. I also incorporated some of the essential tips within the steps.
