At the ceremony, Taylor Swift announced the planned release of a new album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April. Additionally, she won Album of the Year for the fourth time, breaking the tie she held with Frank Sinastra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder for most Grammy awards for album of the year; album of the year is considered to be one of the most notable awards at the Grammys.
Three of the other notable awards are Best New Artist, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. The 2024 Best New Artist was awarded to Victoria Monét. Record of the Year went to Flowers by Miley Cyrus, and Song of the Year was given to Billie Eilish for her song What Was I Made For?.
